Exploring The questions that shape our world
Following the global re-brand of UBS, Poke was appointed to creatively lead an exciting new project featuring Nobel laureates in Economics.
We were approached with an exclusive set of old interview footage of Nobel laureates shot by german game show presenter Frank Elstner in the 80’s. His son, Thomas Elstner who now runs a production company decided to pick up where his father left off and continue the legacy of this epic archive.
Poke’s creative challenge was to find a way to repurpose these old interviews whilst coming up with a treatment for 26 fresh ones.
The main aim of the series is to explore the great questions of our times. The questions that challenged the norm and helped shape our world. Rather than focusing solely on the laureate's theories, we wanted the interviews to feel like intimate mini-documentaries giving you an insight into both their characters and work. As if you were invited into their home.
Each laureate has his own designated page where users can watch the short documentary and delve deeper into their theories via expert commentary (from Tim Harford and Paul Donovan), video snippets and photography.
Over the next two years we will release an exclusive new laureate interview every fortnight, building on this epic vault which explores the brilliant minds that helped shape our world.
